£2mn compensation for birth injuries

An NHS Trust has paid out £2mn compensation to a three-year-old girl who was starved of oxygen at birth. As a result, she has a severe form of cerebral palsy. The Trust admitted negligence and the case was settled. The Trust agreed to make annual payments of £250,000 a year to cover the costs of her care. She will be able to seek further compensation when she reaches her 12th birthday.
