Soldier sues MoD for post-traumatic stress

A soldier has become the first member of the Armed Forces to successfully sue the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for suffering post-traumatic stress while serving in Iraq. The soldier was awarded £375,000. The barrel of a weapon system ignited, causing one soldier to lose an arm. Three others were not physically injured but all put forward claims that they had suffered post-traumatic stress after witnessing the wounds to their comrade. The injured soldier won substantial compensation.
