New aviation syndicate at Lloyd’s

Lloyd’s has approved the formation of syndicate 1919 which will be managed through Marlborough Underwriting Agency Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, and be capitalised by CV Starr and Starr International Investments Limited. Syndicate 1919, which will be the 66th syndicate at Lloyd’s year, has a capacity of £50mn earmarked for 2007. The new syndicate will write aviation, energy, and marine business.
