Tribunal awards sexual harassment damages

An employment tribunal has ordered a former mayor to pay £33,697 in damages to a former town clerk who brought a successful claim of sexual harassment. The woman said she was sexually harassed and victimised by a councillor who was the town’s mayor at the time. Her case was supported by the Equal Opportunities Commission.
