£15,000 for latex allergy sufferer

A latex allergy sufferer has received £15,000 from her employer following her development of a latex allergy. She was employed as an animal technician/lab technician for many years. Throughout her employment she used latex gloves on a daily basis until changes were instituted in 2003. Until then, her employer had provided powdered latex gloves. As a result, she developed a sensitivity to latex products which was shown in a skin reaction, itching eyes and wheeziness.
