Brain damage annual settlement

A woman has been awarded a settlement after she suffered brain damage following an operation to remove part of her placenta after giving birth to her third child. She will receive an immediate lump sum of £600,000 and £82,000 a year for the next nine years, and then annual payments of £71,500 for the rest of her life. The settlement was made on the basis of 80% liability.
