EU investigates Lloyd’s regulation

The European Commission is investigating alleged failure of the British government to police the Lloyd’s of London insurance market in the 1980s in line with European Union law. The Commission is acting on a complaint from dissident name John Pascoe, centring on whether the British government failed to ensure that Lloyds was audited according to EU insurance law, implemented in 1982.
