Annuity bonus ruling
Equitable Life may have to pay up to £1.5bn to 90,000 policyholders following a Court of Appeal ruling that the cutting of
maturity bonuses was unlawful. However, while announcing their intention to appeal to the House of Lords, they also say that
the decision could merely mean lower bonuses for all 500,000 policyholders.
