Rail crossing award cut to US$75mn

Catastrophic injuries and brain damage sustained by a woman in a rail crossing accident have still resulted in one of the largest awards in this class. This after reduction from US$160mn to US$75mn. More detail of Alcorn v National Railroad Passenger Corp appears on the Insurance Information Institute database, 21 January 2000.
