Pub landlord’s involvement in death
A private prosecution for manslaughter, brought by Graham Bailey against a pub landlord, Edward Moorcroft, who sold alcohol
to a 14-year-old who subsequently fell under the wheels of a train, has been halted. This in Preston Crown Court on the legal
point that the landlord had already been punished in a lower court – fined £7,000 for serving alcohol to under-age drinkers.
