A pilot refused to fly, due to risk from icing conditions; his contract with American Eagle was terminated. Despite American
Eagle’s argument that he had failed to properly execute company procedure, a Texas jury found wrongful termination and awarded
him damages of US$10mn (of which US$7mn punitive).
