JCO pays compensation

Following the Tokaimura incident, where violation of safety rules at the uranium processing plant led to the death of one worker, with many hundreds of people in the vicinity exposed to radiation, JCO has already paid out US$49.3mn, mainly to the 400 workers and others directly exposed during the leak.
