Awards and settlements
The value of employment tribunal awards increased
from 1 February 2000, in accordance with the new system of automatic index linking. The current changes reflect the Retail
Price Index between September 1997 and 1999, so that the maximum amount of ‘a week’s pay’, for calculating basic or additional
compensation in cases of unfair dismissal or for statutory redundancy will rise by £10 to a limit of £230.
