Man wins sexual discrimination claim

A man has won a claim for sexual discrimination at an employment tribunal after he was victimised at his place of work. The man, a fire service controller, faced a series of unfounded allegations from female colleague. Although the allegations of harassment were found to have no substance after investigation, he was eventually refused entry to the fire service headquarters where he worked. The woman who made the spurious allegations remained in her post and was awarded a one-off payment. The man’s complaints of victimisation were ignored. The amount of compensation will be decided at a future hearing.
