No rise for small claims limit for personal injury

The Lord Chancellor has said that he will not raise the small claims limit for personal injury. “I have to say that I am not at all convinced that raising the small claims limit for personal injury is the answer,” said Lord Falconer. “We will have to wait to see what the research says, but simply raising the limit will do nothing to address the underlying costs and may give rise to new problems. Although it might deter claims farmers and solicitors from taking on spurious claims, they would not take the genuine claims either.”
