Vicarious liability for education officers

A mother sued the local authority for damages for failure to provide a suitable education for her child. Upholding the High Court’s decision, the Court of Appeal found that there had been no breach of duty of care for failure to re-assess and amend a statement of the child’s educational needs and for allowing him to remain in a particular school.
