£950,000 compensation for hospital death
The family of a man who died from septic shock after a routine bowel operation has been awarded £950,000 in compensation.
The man suffered from Crohn’s disease and had bowel surgery. But he later suffered from abdominal pain, nausea, chest pain
and dehydration. However, despite his family’s pleas for assistance, staff did not act until his GP intervened, over four
days after the operation.
