£20,000 compensation for pregnancy discrimination
A teacher who was made redundant without her knowledge whilst on maternity leave has received £20,000 compensation in a settlement
with her employer who admitted discrimination on the grounds of pregnancy. She became pregnant and requested maternity leave.
The LEA wrote her a letter confirming that she was entitled to 52 weeks maternity leave, but when she tried to go back to
work there was no job for her to return to.
