Equitas settles asbestos claim for $84.5mn
Equitas has agreed to settle all the asbestos claims against
Lloyd’s of US firm American Standard Co in a deal reported to be around $84.5mn. According to
Equitas, $10mn will be paid in the first quarter of this year and the balance will be placed into a trust fund to meet American Standard’s
future asbestos claims.
