Hospital slip caused loss of eyesight

A hospital has settled a case for £19,500 which involved an elderly woman slipping on a wet floor, and losing her sight in one eye as a result. The woman, who was in her 70s, was taken to hospital experiencing chest pains and was kept in overnight for observation. The next morning her son telephoned the nursing station to find out how his mother was.
