2004 safest year on record

Airclaims, the aviation loss adjuster, has reported that 2004 was the safest year on record for commercial air transport. Last year was also the fourth consecutive year where the number of fatal accidents involving passengers decreased (if deliberate acts of violence are excluded), with only 11 fatal accidents worldwide where passengers were killed on revenue passenger flights.
