Wyeth’s $1.28bn settlement backed by claimants
Claimants have given their backing to a $1.28bn settlement with US pharmaceutical group Wyeth over unsafe diet drugs. The
settlement covers current and future non-serious injuries, and involves those with the two lowest levels of medical injury
claims. The diet drugs were taken off the market in 1997 after the fen-phen combination of Pondimin and Redux were linked
to heart valve damage.
