Builder sues over Scottish Parliament
Sir Robert McAlpine Construction Management is suing the Scottish Parliament for £4.31mn in damages, covering lost profits
that it would have made if it had won the construction contract. The building firm failed to secure the contract to construct
the new Scottish Parliament building. The company claims the project breached European regulations, and the company that won
the contract was allowed to alter an aspect of the financial basis on which it submitted its bid, while other bidders were
not allowed that opportunity.
