Religious discrimination claim fails

A Muslim man has lost his claim for racial and religious discrimination and unfair dismissal after he lost his job for refusing to trim his beard. The man worked at London’s Euston Station. His employer said that he was dismissed for his general lack of enthusiasm and not for the length of his beard. Reports said that it is believed to be the first case to decide a claim under the Employment Equality (Religion and Belief) Regulations.
