Law firms take on drug firm over Vioxx
Two plaintiff law firms have joined forces to pursue legal action against the manufacturer of the arthritis drug Vioxx. Leigh
Day & Co.’s product liability department has joined with the law firm, Irwin Mitchell, in their proposed legal action over
the arthritis drug Vioxx. The decision has been made to sue the manufacturer, Merck, in the UK rather than the US, under the
Consumer Protection Act. Vioxx was withdrawn in October 2004.
