Catholic church in $100mn sex-abuse settlement

The Roman Catholic diocese of Orange County in California has reached an agreement to pay around $100mn to settle sex-abuse litigation with 87 claimants. Terms of the deal were not revealed. Payments are to be shared with eight unnamed insurers. It was reported that the settlement will not result in the bankruptcy of the diocese or the closure of any of its 56 parishes.
