WTC worker not eligible for workers comp benefits

A man who worked at the World Trade Center, but who was at home on Sept 11, 2001, is not eligible for workers compensation benefits. The man had rushed to the WTC and joined in rescue attempts, suffering psychological injuries. The New York’s Worker’s Compensation Board originally ruled that he had suffered a work-related injury, but this was reversed at appeal, since his injuries did not result from his employment.
