No compensation for non-economic loss
An employee claiming unfair dismissal in an employment tribunal could not recover compensation for non-economic loss. The
House of Lords allowed the appeal by the employers. The case concerned section 123 of the Employment Rights Act 1996, and
the claimant was claiming for humiliation and injury to feelings over several months before his alleged constructive dismissal.
The Lords held that section 123 did not allow for the recovery of non-economic loss.
