Damages settlement for birth delays

A boy who was left with cerebral palsy and epilepsy after his birth has received damages from the NHS trust. The court ruled that there had been a negligent delay in delivering the boy. He will receive £650,000 for an adapted home, and then index linked annual amounts of £60,000 until he is 11 years old, then £75,000 until his 19th birthday and then £100,000 for the rest of his life.
