Mental trauma injury award blocked

A judge has blocked an injuries award to a policeman who was suspended after a fatal shooting. The man had claimed mental trauma had damaged his health and the injuries were received while he was on duty. A doctor concluded that he had been permanently disabled from performing his ordinary police duties, and he was given an injuries award in addition to his pension. But the judge said he could not be said to have been “on duty” while suspended.
