D&O increases for financial institutions

D&O insurance costs for financial institutions have leapt by 175% since 2000, according to research by Aon Professional Risks. For financial institutions, the cost of D&O insurance has almost tripled over the past few years, from an average of £2,122 in 2000 to £5,850 in 2002 (per £mn cover), with premium increases peaking at 175% between 2000 and 2001.
