Texaco sues Port Authority over Sea Empress
The Milford Haven Port Authority is being sued by Texaco for $16m in compensation for the loss of the cargo and other associated
costs. The claim was revealed in the latest Report and Accounts from the Port Authority which shows that in February 2002,
six years after the grounding of the Sea Empress in 1996, and only days before the final deadline, Texaco which was due to
receive the ship’s ill-fated cargo, filed its claim.
