IUMI warns cargo insurers over wood packaging exposure

Failure to meet ISPM 15 requirements can trigger detention, fumigation, repacking, re-export and other costs, even when the insured cargo itself is undamaged

CARGO insurers should pay closer attention to the sourcing and documentation of wood packaging material, as non-compliance can trigger significant operational and financial disruption, the International Union of Marine Insurance has warned.
