Europe’s AI Act is a wake-up call for insurers

Act’s new transparency requirements should prompt insurers to evaluate their approach to artificial intelligence

FORMALLY passed in March 2024, the EU AI Act marked the world’s first legal framework to regulate artificial intelligence. Composed of many different rules, the regulations are designed to ban unacceptable risks around AI, clearly define how AI systems in specific areas can operate and support innovation and startups across Europe.
