Insurance (property) – Duty of fair presentation – Increase of risk – Effect of failure to notify – Scope of exclusion of damage by fire

Bellshill leased its warehouse to Tradebe for use in Tradebe’s business of processing clinical waste. In December 2020 Bellshill, through brokers Borland, insured the premises against various perils including fire. The policy required an electrical inspection by February 2021, and also required Bellshill to inform the insurers of any increase in risk as soon as it was aware of it and to pay any additional premium.
