The hidden risk from building defects following a fire loss

A fire claim can evolve into a much larger and more complex issue if investigations reveal defects in a building’s fire protection measures

FROM a property risk perspective, when a fire occurs, the immediate focus is naturally on the damage caused by the incident itself. Yet increasingly, particularly in the wake of Grenfell and the introduction of the Building Safety Act, investigations are uncovering a second layer of exposure that can ultimately exceed the original loss.
