Understanding aviation risk in Brazil's agricultural sector

The seasonal concentration of losses, the variability of pilot quality, the constraints of the local repair environment and the expected emergence of autonomous platforms present challenges for the insurance market

BRAZIL is both a significant commercial aviation market and home to one of the world’s largest agricultural aviation sectors. With more than 2,700 aircraft registered for crop-spraying operations, Brazil ranks second globally, behind only the United States. The fleet is projected to exceed 3,000 aircraft by 2027, underpinning a sector responsible for approximately 60% of the country's agricultural exports.
