Why ILPA 2026 is the watershed moment for private market transparency
By Joe Branca
For nearly a decade, the private equity industry operated under a reporting framework that, while functional, struggled to
keep pace with the increasing complexity of modern fund structures. Since the Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA)
last issued a major reporting template update in 2016, the landscape has shifted beneath our feet. As the industry continues
to mature, it has attracted a broader base of investors and taken up an ever-larger share of institutional portfolios. This
systematic growth means limited partners (LPs) no longer just request transparency, they demand it.
