Cable approval

ClassNK has issued certificates of approval of manufacturing procedure and type approval for a high-corrosion-resistant type semi-parallel wire cable (SPWC) developed by Kobelco Wire Co. This approval confirms that the product complies with the requirements of ClassNK's regulations and represents the first ClassNK approval for a high-corrosion-resistant SPWC. The cable is expected to serve as a new option for mooring lines of floating offshore wind turbine structures, providing material characteristics distinct from steel chains and synthetic fibre rope without limiting the mooring configuration.
