For decades, shipping treated change as an occasional disruption. New regulations, technologies or market pressures were addressed as standalone projects: introduced, implemented, stabilised and then absorbed into routine operations. This approach suited an industry built on standardisation, long planning cycles and operational certainty. That era is now over.
