Lars Lange, of the International Union of Marine Insurance, warns thar cargo crime is an increasing menace for the shipping sector and its insurers

Cargo crime is increasing at an alarming rate across the globe, with particularly significant activity in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as well as in the Asia-Pacific region and the Americas. Its manifestations range widely from fraudulent pick-ups and organised deception to violent theft.
