The Clinical Negligence Bill 2026

On 18 March 2026, Catherine McKinnell MP presented the Clinical Negligence Bill in the House of Commons. The Bill has scarcely been mentioned in the media, perhaps because of the current state of the economy and various geo-political events. It contains clauses proposing amendments to the Law Reform (Personal Injuries) Act 1948, which have given rise to comment in the past whenever issues such as access to justice are raised in the context of personal injury litigation, including clinical negligence claims.
