Some ships trapped in Gulf skimping on war risk cover

Benchmark war risk rates have fallen since announcement of ceasefire that expires at midnight April 22

SOME of the hundreds of vessels trapped in the Middle East Gulf after the recent fighting in the region seem to have dispensed with hull war risk cover, as owners opt not to pay premiums running to hundreds of thousands of dollars a week for ships that are not trading.
