Uninsured shadow fleet vessels are a growing concern for insurers

The increasing threat of collisions involving dark fleet vessels is becoming a serious issue for marine insurers, legal experts and underwriters say. Concerted action is needed. Shadow fleet vessels may either be entirely uninsured or covered outside traditional insurance markets, meaning their cover, if they have any, may be patchy and their response times to incidents may be slow
