High Court affirms insurers’ rights to a seat at the table

Insurers were permitted insurers to join and make legal arguments in proceedings against their insured, the High Court ruled in a recent judgment

IN a little publicised judgment handed down before Christmas last year, Managed Legal Solutions Limited v Mr Darren Hanison (trading as Fortitude Law) [2025], the English High Court allowed an insurer’s application to be joined as a defendant to proceedings brought against its insured so it could argue on liability issues with the claimant, MLS.
