Worldwide workplace accident and fatalities

Around two million people are killed by their work every year, and an estimated 160 million people on this planet have work-related diseases, according to a new report from the International Labour Organisation (ILO). The number of work accidents worldwide, fatal or non-fatal, is around 270 million a year, of which 355,000 are fatal and 160 million are occupational diseases. It adds that about US$1.25trn of global economic earnings are lost to work-related accidents and illnesses.
