Solicitor wins damages from airline

The budget airline, easyJet, has paid undisclosed damages to a solicitor for cancelling a flight to Paris. The airline was accused of letting passengers check in and wait in the departure lounge, whilst knowing that there was no aircrew for the flight. The solicitor, who was flying to Paris with his wife to celebrate her birthday, said that the airline made a decision to save money by cancelling the flight rather than bringing in another crew from a different airport. The passengers were initially told the flight was delayed. Passengers were offered a refund or a free flight within three months, which the solicitor declined.
