Fund agrees to pay 100% of Erika claims
The International Oil Pollution Compensation Fund has raised the level of payment of compensation to the victims of the
‘Erika’
oil spill incident from 80% to 100% of the amount of loss or damage agreed between the claimants and the Fund. The Executive
Committee of the Fund had authorised the director of the Fund to increase the level of payments ‘when the uncertainties as
to the total level of admissible claims had been sufficiently reduced to allow him to do so.’
