UK ransomware payment ban could ‘significantly shift’ cyber market A proposed ransomware payment ban in the UK could cause a significant shift the UK cyber market, legal experts warned. The ban could see public sector organisations and operators of critical national infrastructure prevented from making ransomware payments in the event they are victims of an attack. Proponents said taking away the ability to pay ransoms would make these organisations less attractive a target for ransomware groups.
