National Trust bans GM crops

The National Trust has announced that it is banning its tenant farmers from growing genetically modified crops on Trust land. The National Trust has around 2,000 tenant farmers. The Trust described the move as a precautionary approach, and it would be open to change in the light of more scientific evidence.
